Jim Griggs will be passing through Colorado from Kansas and has agreed to stop in Evergreen to present “Shooting in the Plains” on Wednesday, May 25th for ECC at 7:00 pm at Evergreen Fire & Rescue. This is an excellent time to focus east and learn about photo opportunities in the plains.

How NOT to Become a Conservation Photographer…But You Should Anyway

Local award-winning conservation photographer and author Boyd Norton will present “How NOT to Become a Conservation Photographer…But You Should Anyway” at the May 11th Evergreen Camera Club meeting. Boyd’s talk will dovetail nicely with his 17th published book: Conservation Photography Handbook, How to Save the World One Photo at a Time.

STEVE JOHNSON WILL BE THE PRESENTER AT OUR APRIL GENERAL MEETING

Steve Johnson enjoys wildlife photography with an emphasis on birds and specifically birds in flight. He also enjoys landscape and nature photography. Steve belongs to the Englewood Camera Club were he has served as the president and now serves as the VP of programs. He is also a member of the Depot Art Gallery in Littleton and was recently featured in Mike’s Camera Blog: http://mikescamerablog.com/totw-birds-in-flight/.

DAVE CAMARA, CAMARA PHOTOGRAPHY

Dave Camara is an Evergreen-based professional photographer who shoots weddings (teaming with his wife, Peggy), events, and architectural and corporate subjects. But he may be best known for his action sports photography for ESPN X Games, SKI Magazine, NASTAR National Championships and Arapahoe Basin Ski Area. Stan Hill will speak on "Zeros to Heroes"
Using technique, composition and simple editing to make your snapshots into winners.

Stan Hill will share many examples of taking an average shot and making it a winning shot. Using location planning, knowledge of animal behavior & environmental factors, along with capture techniques to "get the shot". Then using some basic editing to further improve the image to change the original Zero to a Hero.

A Photographer’s Guide to Colorado’s National Parks and Monuments

Join author and naturalist Cindy Maynard and professional photographer Bob Maynard to learn about their new book The Photographer's Guide to Colorado's National Parks and Monuments Bob and Cindy will share their extensive personal experience, entertaining anecdotes, and a selection of Bob's photographs during this 45 minute multi-media presentation.

OCTOBER 14, 2015 - GENERAL MEETING - BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION 7PM (6:30pm SOCIAL TIME)-PRESENTER: GENE TEWKSBURY

GENE TEWKSBURY will be speaking on travel photography. Gene says:
My presentation's focus is on the hows/whys of travel photography (Asia specific).
Topics like dealing with cultural issues, finding unique photos, using an editorial method, how to get natural/candid imagery from locals, working with local fixers, avoiding legal trouble, things like that.
Photography instruction would be focused on working with the environment to your advantage and if asked, questions from the audience about how a particular image was captured.

SEPTEMBER 9, 2015 - GENERAL MEETING - BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION 7PM (6:30pm SOCIAL TIME)-PRESENTER: ROB PALMER

Photography has always been a part of Rob's life. He began taking pictures with a Polaroid black and white camera when he was twelve, then quickly moved on to a 35 mm SLR. His first SLR was a Kowa. In high school he became the school's photographer and was able to use the school's Pentax cameras. The basics in photography have stuck with him.
