The Public is invited to attend our August meeting when the Guest Speaker will be Colorado Photographer ~ David Smith. Owner and operator of Downtown Evergreen's "Timberline Gallery", recently moved to a new location, the Evergreen Design Center on Meadow Drive. David has recently published his first book, "Timberline: Landscapes from the Colorado High Country", and he will be talking about his favorite places to photograph . A life-long passion, his work has been represented in several galleries around Colorado. It's sure to be an interesting program!

Weldon Lee travels around the globe to the world’s most exotic locations photo-graphing wildlife and capturing the essence of their personalities on film. He has a special way of communicating with animals and his images depict that relationship. His commitment to wildlife brings a fresh perspective to photography.

Topic - Underwater Photography

Holly Marr, SDI SCUBA Instructor with Twin Dolphins Diving. I've been diving since 2002 and fell in love with the underwater world. After diving for a couple of years, I wanted to take back more than memories and began taking pictures. My passion for underwater photography started with a cheap disposable camera on a shallow dive and soon moved to housed cameras with many more options. I enjoy sharing my photos- taking people to places they may never get the chance to enjoy for themselves.

Title: Travels and photography in Brazil

Shortly after his outstanding presentation to The Evergreen Camera Club last winter on travel to Iceland Dr. Goodman left for a teaching assignment in Brazil. He will present a show of images taken turning that trip. It will include Rio de Janerio, Iquazu Falls, the Pantanal (including jaguars in the wild), and some of the farm country in southern Brazil. Plus other surprises.

APRIL GENERAL MEETING - APRIL 13,2011 - BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION 7pm (SOCIAL TIME 6:30pm) PRESENTER:BOB DEAN ON MACRO PHOTOGRAPY

Bob Dean is a freelance nature and wildlife photographer. With his wife Nadine, he has been photographing the natural world for over 35 years. Their stock file has nearly 10,000 images ranging from Alaska to Australia to Europe.

They have published many images and articles in magazines and newsletters including F8 and Being There, Falcon and Wild Outdoor World. Bob was an assistant editor and featured photographer for First Light Monthly Newsletter for Nature Photographers for over three years.

MARCH GENERAL MEETING, MARCH 9,2011 - BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION 7pm (6:30pm social time) PRESENTER - AMY JOHNSON

Amy Johnson has been an avid photographer since she bought her first SLR
camera in 1978. Her passion is portrait photography and she has been
running Amy Johnson Photography (previously Kids Being Kids Portraits) since
2004. Amy's specialty is children's photography for which she has developed
numerous tips and pointers to share. You can see examples of Amy's work
in the Buchanan and Wulf Recreation Centers and on her website,
www.amyphoto.com.

FEBRUARY 9TH, 2011 GENERAL MEETING - BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION - 7pm(6:30PM SOCIAL TIME) - PRESENTER BOB SMITH

Bob Smith is a well known nature photographer and instructor. After spending 15 years with Apple, Inc in marketing and technical roles, he moved to Jackson WY as the Director of Mangelsen Stock Images. Bob has been an instructor at Rich Clarkson's Photography at the Summit workshops for the past 10 years. He has been the photography instructor for Lindblad Expeditions on trips to Svalbard, Alaska, Galapagos, Antarctica, and the British Isles. He has also been an instructor for Santa Fe Workshops and leads his own workshops to Alaska, Botswana, and Canada.

NOTICE!!! ECC CHRISTMAS PARY SITE CHANGE - TUSCANY TAVERN - SOCIAL TIME 6:30 DINNER AT 7 ON DECEMBER 8

The site for the Christmas party on December 8th has been changed. The new location is the Tuscany Tavern 32214 Ellingwood Trail in Evergreen (right by the Buchanan Park Rec Center). Social time 6:30 and dinner at 7. Price remains the same ($16.50) Year end photo contest will be held. Reservations to Bill Vogel or Edie Marks as soon as possible.

About John Fielder

John Fielder is a nationally renowned nature photographer, publisher, teacher, and preservationist. In 1981 he founded Westcliffe Publishers, one of the nation's largest publishers of nature books and calendars. A former department store executive who turned an avocation into a career, he is the photographer of 39 exhibit format books, guidebooks, and children’s books, most about his adopted state of Colorado.

NOVEMBER MEETING - NOV. 10, 7PM (6:30PM SOCIAL TIME) BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION - PRESENTER - DEAN KRAKEL

Award winning photojournalist Dean Krakel’s work has appeared in National Geographic, Rolling Stone, National Wildlife, Outside, Time, Newsweek and Life magazines. His images of the Marlboro Man, photographed for the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency are famous worldwide.

Krakel is the author of three books, Season of the Elk, Downriver and Krakel’s West.

While Dean was Photo Editor and Director of Photography at the Rocky

Mountain News in Denver, the staff won three Pulitzer Prizes for photography.
