Tips & Techniques: Using Lighting Techniques
Presenter: Cynthia Holling-Morris
Cynthia has presented programs for us before and we are fortunate to have her return for a T&T session this month. Cynthia's program on lighting should be helpful to all, from novice to experienced photographers! Cynthia teaches photography at the Art Institute of Colorado in downtown Denver.
She is also the daughter of our members, Doug and Betty Holling.

MAY TIPS & TECHNIQUES MEETING - MAY 26, 2010 EVERGREEN WILD BIRD STORE 7pm (6:30 SOCIAL TIME) SUBJECT: ATTRACTING WILD BIRDS

The May Tips & Techniques meeting will be held at the Evergreen Wild Bird Store - 32156 Castle Ct. ( the strip mall directly west of the Bergen Park Fire Station). The owners of the store, John & Diane Sears have kindly offered to host our meeting. They will give us tips on how to attract wild birds to our yards and create wild bird habitats.

MARCH TIPS & TECHNIQUES MEETING - MARCH 24 - BEGINNER'S CLASS -BERGEN PARK FIRE STATION (7pm meeting 6:30pm social time)

PRESENTER: CHARLES DIRKS
The Tips and Techniques meeting this month will cover basic photography concepts concentrating on exposure. We will look at various camera settings to allow the camera to properly expose an image while maintaining some control (shutter speed, f-stop or ISO...) over the camera. The session
will be targeted towards DSLR owners, but point-and-shoot controls will be covered as well. We will also have an opportunity to hear a few words from a freelance photographer for the Associated Press, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.

APRIL T&T MEETING - COLOR IMAGES TO BLACK & WHITE - APRIL 28 - 7PM (SOCIAL TIME 6:30 PM) PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS GROUP AT 6PM

Tips and Techniques for April will feature experimenting with digital conversions to black and white. We’ll explore various ways of creating black and white images from original color digital images using Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Club members may e-mail a color image (and the black and white version, if desired) that they would like to see converted during the session to me ahead of time at siriusenergy@msn.com.Tips & Techniques: Digital Conversion to Black and White

Presenters will include several club members with black and white conversion experience.

We live in a land of wildlife photography wonders. Our Tips and Techniques program is pertinent to anyone who ventures out to encounter wildlife with the idea of adding to our photo collections. We can inadvertently harm some creatures while others can harm us.

Be sure to attend to learn the ethical and responsible ways to be successful and safe with a camera in our wild lands!

ECC members enjoyed a fascinating presentation last evening of wildlife photos and stories from Doug & Betty's recent trip to Botswana.
In our next Tips and Techniques meeting, they will facilitate an open discussion about building your own personal code of conduct for outdoor photography.

ECC crop-meister, Harry Sherwood, presents cropping and editing techniques to dramatically improve your photographs.

TIPS & TECHNIQUES MEETING SEPT. 23 7pm, 6;30 SOCIAL TIME - DAVID SMITH - TIPS ABOUT PRINTING

David Smith, ECC Member and owner of the Timberline Gallery in downtown Evergreen will present tips on printing. Items discussed will include; preparing files for optimal printing, cropping margins and cropping ratios, different print media, framing options and tips to help streamline the process.
